Makes sense. I guess Hyper Harvest only works because all the tiles are aligned horizontally on the same raster line. As soon as you have a single dropping tile it would be problematic.

Very fun game. I guess the engine can be easily re-worked to make similar games like "Chain Factor"/"Drop 7" and the like

Funny bug - I went left from the starting screen I was given and tripped the wall on the way. The screen scrolled left to a new map and I hit game over. When I started a new game, the new game immediately threw me left a screen!

You're not the only one who has noticed a bug here.

Apparently scores are getting saved but rounded down - or something. Somebody managed to get 660 points and then it was saved as 600 - or so I read. Haven't been able to reproduce this myself though.

Hopefully there'll be a v1.2 soon

Really enjoying these arcade ports! Hope you enjoy the coins detected in my pocket.

If there was one arcade game that I think needs a C64 port, I suggest Exidy's "Venture". It has a 6502 CPU as well.

It's amazing how many high-score savers actually don't cater for this problem and can't gracefully handle disk errors... but the scene doesn't want to know about anything other than drive 8, expect it to always be there, and to never fail. But this is a simple fix, so why not if the game is a one-filer?

I guess the next step up would be a more faithful port of 1942! That would really test out a sprite multiplexer! That said, the larger sprites and attack pattern data would make it a tough challenge.

Amazing port! Plays very faithfully!

The highscore saver will crash the program before it starts if you didn't load the game from a diskdrive though... although in such cases it's just best to disable highscore saving/loading if the last load device is less than 8 (should be able to handle tape loads and cartridge DMA loads then!)

I just repeated that bug it twice in the same game. The second time I got a free life, and then I immediately got myself killed again and it then gave me another free life!

You're right. my mistake

It's the latest 1.04. I guess the bug isn't totally fixed. When I have no lives in the tank, I shouldn't be getting a free life!

just noticed that if I let my last fighter get captured, I get a free fighter? I don’t think that happened in the original! I thought it would just go straight to game over after being captured…

Also I seem to keep hearing extra lives sounds without actually getting one.

Awesome work! I did notice that on one occasion my captured fighter was immediately returned to me as soon as the alien finished capturing it and taking it to the top of the screen. I didn't have to shoot him! Probably has something to do with the iffy collision detection. Hopefully you can nail the issue!
